Dave's 150G Starphire Zeo Reef~

Hey Dave, looks amazing! What part of the valley are you in? Love to see that tank in person some day and check out the set up. Did woodwrangler do the stand & canopy?

I know I've said it before Dave but that is a sweet selection of coral & fish. I already have "coral envy" so I am looking forward with much anticipation to seeing this stuff grown in & out.

Thank you so much Gregg, coming from you I take that as such a compliment. I've been following your tank here and on the Zeo forum for some time now and I'm a huge fan of all you've done with your tank/corals/fish!~

Looks great! I bet you cant wait til all those cool frags grow out huh? :)

Yeah, I'm excited to watch them come to fruition. Seems like they grow so slow but when you look at 5 and 6 months back it's amazing, even to me, how quickly everything is growing in!

I'm right near Squaw Peak mountain. If you're interested in stopping by you're more than welcome! Just PM me and I can get you my address and phone number.

As far as the stand and canopy, I had a friend of mine who does hi-end cabinetry work do it for me. He surpassed my wildest dreams and expectations!

Blue Linkia
Had the camera near by when my Blue Linkia was out and snapped a couple pics of him before he disappeared back into the rock work again. Linkia's are my very favorite of inverts!!!

No kidding, I used to live right at the base of the Peak myself, where 32nd street dead ends into it. Definitely be into coming by sometime for sure. I'll send you a PM some weekend when I can make it over there.

This just in!

This just in!

Now for some interesting news....

Tsunami Wave Located in Phoenix

Lol... got my wave box up and kicking thanks to Steve. Here's some quick video clip of the tank with "wave action"

Nice waves, what pumps are you using?

Hi Ricky,

sorry to be so long in responding....

For pumps I'm using all Tunze's: 1x 6105, 2x 6055's (modded for more flow), 1x 6025 (modded for more flow) and of course the wavebox that has the larger intake screen for wider flow and it fits the box better (all thanks Steve/Jar*Head)!

A little update

A little update

Well, it's been a while since I've updated the thread so I thought I'd breathe some life back into it with some new pics.

A friend of mine's son was over the other day and I had him snap these for me. He's studying photography so, I knew he could capture some better images than me. Next on my list is to have him school me a bit on the shutter bug skills!

Here ya go, enjoy!

Nice update, Dave. Your tank is looking sweet!! Does the Pyramid bother any of your SPS? It looks pretty happy in your tank.

Thanks for the kind word! The Butterfly has been a model citizen I have to say. I'm probably going to be getting a couple more to keep him company and to have another set of fish to school together. I really like the movement in groups!

beautiful tank!!! When everything grows in you are going to have one incredible display.

Thanks very much!

Great video Dave, everything looks healthy thanks for sharing.

Thanks Dan....

As Murphy's law would have it tonight, I was finally getting my Korallin Ca Rx up tonight and as I was snugging down the compression fitting on my inlet assembly the plastic snapped, just like yours you sent me the pic of.

Oh well, I got a new inlet and outlet assembly ordered as well as another O-ring just to be on the safe side.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! :wavehand:

DOH! That was a picture of what NOT to do ;) Yeah, I've broken both the inlet and outlet parts at different times. Even though they are made of plastic they're still kinda fragile. Now the fun part, dialing it in. Happy Thanksgiving Dave...

Yeah I was very "ginger" with it but still... I think the years of Co2 going through were all that it needed to make a little more on the brittle side. Oh well, what's another minor set back, eh??? LOL :twitch:

Got a few new pieces....

Got a few new pieces....

Well, I thought I'd snap a few shots of some pieces that I got a couple days ago for you guys to see.

Ended up getting a piece Setosa that came to my LFS from VIVID Aquariums in So Cal. Also above and to the right is an unknown red piece with purple tips I got from Leroy at G.A.R.F.

Thought this shot was cool too

Here are a couple shots of a Granulosa that's got some great potential!

The other piece I got is a Solitaryensis with some nice colors coming on. Wasn't able to get a shot of it yet. Last one is a really cool Mariculture piece. It's got a purple base/body with really awesome blue/green tips, just smokin hot!

I'll try in the next couple days to get pics of the Soli and the Mariculture piece up for you guys!

Amazing tank !!

I can't stip drooling at that Ringtail Tang. Where did you get it ?

Thank you for the kind word! The Ringtail was purchased at a LFS, got a good deal on him! He seems to be in between and exhibiting juvenile/adult coloration depending when you catch him or not.
