7+ days is good. Typically....after the Nem looks good, you still want to treat him another 3 days or so.

I've never dosed meds in the dark, but I've dosed hundreds at about every hour of the day with no ill effects.

I sure hope he doesn't deflate on you. What else do you have in the DT, and how long has it been up and running.

How's your skimmer, flow, lighting, bio load, etc.?

I was wrong about the piece of squid. I found it floating in the HT the next morning.
The gig was pretty small this morning with it's mouth really open and puffy.
It is also starting to expel "rat" pellets again and I keep finding mucous like stuff around its foot.

So.. the battle continues I guess.

Dave - It happened exactly the same to my purple gig. It was doing very well after i switched from Septra to Cipro. I had planned to stop the treatment and put it in the DT. The day before yesterday i fed it a small piece of a table shrimp and yesterday the water was all cloudy and the gig deflated and expelled pellets.

All three of our Gigs are not doing well, but seem to response to treamtment. Keep on treating guys. Mine deflated yesterday and I use both antibiotic at this time.

My most recent gig went into QT and didn't respond well to Cipro so i switch to Septra. It responded better to the second med, but not how I wished. Ended up adding both meds and after a couple days of doing well without deflation I stopped treatment and just kept up QT without meds and WC until it was ready for DT.

Put a ball valve on a 5/G bucket. That way you can siphon the tank and lift the bucket up to the sink and open the valve and let her drain.

Or just put a pump in the bottom of a brute with dolly....pump an roll boyz.

I actually have a 45 gallon brute for RO set up above another 45 gallon brute for saltwater. The saltwater one is plumbed with a pump and hosing that runs straight to the sump.
It has a quick connect on the sump end of the hose so I can quickly connect it to another hose to fill the HT. I use the same hose to siphon out the HT. A water change takes maybe 10 minutes and I don't have to lift anything heavier than a garden hose.

My top off is also fed from my RO Brute container. It's nice having my garage on the same wall as my system.

Gig is still ejecting "pellets" and mucus. Mouth is a little more closed than it was this morning. I still isn't eating and it's tentacles are not very sticky. No where near as sticky as my haddoni.

Just keep the fresh water going Q24 hrs.

Also, if he's not sticky and didn't eat the last time, just hold off and wait till he's lookin' better. When they are limp and not sticky, they won't eat.

Currently I have the camera aimed at my 60 gallon. Hoping to spot a couple fish I added today.

Anemone looks about the same this evening.
I did a 100% water change and added 1 tablet of Septra.

Hopefully it will continue to improve.

I quit medicating yesterday and moved to my 60 gallon today. It's part of my 350 gallon system. It's easy to access and remove the gig if needed.
