Dave's worlds slowest pico build

I have no experience with any of the other lights you mentioned, besides the Kessil. I have the 360, connected and controlled with my Apex. I do have real world experience and use with AI and Ecotech LED -- hands down the Kessil blows them away. I know it's an expense light for a tank in the PICO size but it sure would look good over it. And I don't have to tell you, would grow ANYTHING at like 20%. LOL. ;)

That's a little surprising to hear honestly. I love my radion but I've seen kesdils in action and they're kick ***! I think I may try one. That's where I'm leaning but not positive yet.

hey Dave how did the move go? glad your getting it wet:) i cant realy help you with the lighting side of things, but if i was picking out of that list the kessil 350 sounds the best and i think color control and dimming would pay for its self in avoided future frustration lol. so go the best and be done with it;)

The move went smoothly the 40 breeder suffered no damages so that's a win lol I'm pumped to get this running too.

A Radion would be perfect for the Pico!!! Lol.

All jokes aside, the Kessil's are amazing lights. Even though I had the 150's (before the new ones came out) those lights still packed a punch and grew anything I needed.

Honestly for me, I'd just do a Kessil 150. Keep it nice and cheap, yet still powerful especially considering the tank size. But you do want the control-ability so, out of all, I think the bigger Kessil would be your best bet unless you'd want to throw your Radion over it which you're going to get the most control-ability from..

Decisions Decisions, this tank will be a beast of a pico!!

Lol radion is reserved for the 40. The controllability color wuse isn't an issue, I feel like I'd like the ocean blue but I want dimming it else I'll have to hang this thing from the sun so I don't blast everything with light

The 350 is $40-$50 more than the 150 so it's tough not to bump up the next level. The 360 is $400 I believe though and that's well over what I'd like to spend. I may do a 150 ocean blue though. I'm still confused what TUNA blue is though. Someone on here said it is am acronym for something mean there's some kind of tuning or something but I'll have to read up on that.

Yep, deep ocean is blue haha. I didn't realize the price difference. Get the tuna them for controllability! If it's not much more, why not!

Tough call. With gooseneck I'm at $250 or $330 between 150 and 350. I'm also keeping an eye open on the used market. There's a 150 with goiseneck on here for $175 shipped and insured but it's sky blue :(

Dave's worlds slowest pico build

350 all day. ;) Something about the knobs on top..supm really satisfying about having them there.

I'm also into cameras. They've got fancy touchscreen cameras and all that now. But I much prefer the vintage styling of Canon G-Series' with their knobs and dials. I dunno..there really is something satisfying about turning a good ol' fashioned knob, know what I mean?

Now post more pics!

My dad has a camera from Fuji. It's digital but it looks all old school ha pretty neat. I'll get some more pics don't you worry.

Note from the editor: I warned all of you this would be painfully slow. It's in the title!

This is a slow painful build and it's definitely killing all of us... SLOWLY!!!

Though I think it will be worth it. Going to be SUCH a sick little tank when its all stocked up!

This thing will be COLOR. That's the point of this pico for me.

I think an MP40 would be perfect.

All jokes aside,
Maybe a little nano powerhead? If you aren't really doing SPS, I think the flow from an HOB filter or whatever will be sufficient enough
