Day old RBTA split already?!?!

I picked up a sweet looking deep red BTA yesterday. I drip acclimated him for a little over an hour then added him to my tank. He settled right in and was looking great. Later in the evening while feeding my tank I squirted a bunch of mysis and brine into him and he swallowed them all up immediately.

Then to my suprise this morning while looking at my tank I notice I have 2 RBTAs! He split overnight on me right away.

I was wondering if this is uncommon to happen right away like this? Is this a good or a bad thing? Both of them are looking very healthly.

It is common. I've had several people tell me a new RBTA that they just got from me split immediately. Congrats.

The stress of being transported can trigger the splitting.
