I want these so bad

You obviously have taste. Often overlooked but one of the coolest fish there is imo and a bonded pair is something special. Tried pairing two a few years ago and they were fine for a few weeks then one went missing.

I agree hopefully some day I'll get one or a pair, sorry to hear about your loss but they are very rare to find in a pair so I imagine it is difficult

Nice, My LFS has one right now and i was watching him. They seem to have a cool personality. I am thinking about getting one or a lytertail hawkfish.

i don't know what constitutes a "bonded" pair. i added one to my dt and a few months later, added another. they paired up immediately and are rarely seen apart. there is a definite color difference in them. i suspect i have 1 male and 1 female but i got them several months apart. love these fish, great personalities and if i am anywhere near the tank, they are front and center.

I would love to add one, but I don't know how my flamehawk will react. a pair would be awesome.

If you want to get them, get two as small as you can. They all start female, and the biggest one goes male. Either that, or get one that is tiny, and the other that is huge.
