DD Mags

Put mag into HT yesterday. Thought I had septra on hand - apparently not so I started a 7 day course of Cipro. Treating a mag is often a series of ups and downs. I'm hopeful in this case that starting treatment quickly will have helped. Nem did not deflate at all today. Though I have proclaimed success before only to subsequently lose the animal, so I shall make no such pronouncements this time

Anemone is looking better, though still deflated last night. I figure 4 more days then we will see. Should have the septra on hand by then, so if all is not perfect will go for a course of that too. Rehomed my big mag on Friday, so clowns are wandering the tank aimlessly (rock had to go with the nem; which also had their most recent set of eggs, not happy clowns).



Mouth gaped a bit first day, but no black rat poops (at least, not yet).

No deflation now for two days, mouth is tight, so two more days of cipro then into the big display. Have septra on hand now just in case.

That's one beautiful mag you acquired. I'm sure clowns will be much happier when it goes in your main tank.

At the risk of jinxing myself (because I've had one of these go south after looking pretty good) I'm optimistic. It was a DD Mag, so perhaps in better than normal shape, and I got it into re-treatment quickly. We shall see!

I'm now prepared to state optimism for this magnifica. Moved it into the mains display and it looks very happy, showing no signs of deflation. Also pleased to report that my fish cleared the rock of every visible strand of algae in less than an hour - love my Tangs!

Thanks chaps! I must confess that, though not intentional, my camera always makes my fish appear a bit more colorful than they appear to mine own eyes. Just not a very good photographer, and have neither the time nor the inclination to take on another hobby, so t'will have to suffice.

DD mag has been almost a week in the display and has shown no signs of distress - no deflation and no distended mouth. I'm now prepared to log this into the 'win' column.
