Dead PH, need help, need info

First off, I have a 5yr old 6100 pump that froze last night and started the alarm going. I soaked it in vinager today and scrubed it down, but still a no go just constant alarm. Even removing the impellar didn't stop the alarm. I am resoaking the motor section in vinager for tonight, but have little hope that the pump is still good. Any other suggestions??

Second, if the pump above is dead and needs to be replaced, can the new stream 2 pumps attach to a 1" acrylic pane? Are the magnets strong enough for that thickness? I have an 8' acrylic tank with 1" thick panes and euro bracing so with my current old Tunze pumps, I had to silicone them to the panes. Any answers here on the new stream 2 pumps?

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't know without seeing it, it could be the drive unit is just mechanically worn out as well, so just a new drive unit might fix it, but the motor being dead is definitely possible.

The 6205.500 mag holder that comes with the 6205 and 6305 and is optional for the other models will work on 1".

Thanks for the info. I may unplug this pump from the drive and swap it with one of the others I have to see where the problem lies, but most likely I will just replace it since it is over 5 years old. On that note, my tank is a 375gal 96x30x30 currently running 2 6100s and 2 6200 pumps. It is a mixed reef, so what in your opinion might be the best mix of pumps to go with on these new pumps? Stick with running 4 or go down to 2?

I would prefer 4 because it gives some breathing room if one fails. You have time to have it serviced without it being an emergency situation, I would go with 4 6105.

Thanks, I just ordered 2 of the 6205s last night. I still have 1 good 6100 and 2 good 6200s, but they are getting old, so I may slowing change out the remaining ones to the new style. Can the 6105s be ordered with the larger magnet holders? That is the main reason I went with the 6205. I need at least 2 that can attach to the side 1" panes, the other to can attach to the overflows which are much thiner.

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately the 6105 come only with the smaller magnet holder which can handle up to 3/4".
