Decorated Rabbitfish with dull color

I purchased a Decorated Rabbitfish (Siganus puellus) about nine months ago. It was small (around 2 1/2 inches long) and very skinny but a bright yellow with light blue squiggly lines at the LFS. Of course there was different lighting and the wall and floor of the tank were a medium blue.

After going through TTM, I put it in my FOWLR display tank. The rabbitfish has fattened up nicely and is over 5 inches long now. I feed the tank NLS and Nori and it has a very good appetite! My only complaint is that its yellow became more of a dull antique gold or khaki color so he is not much to look at.
Any suggestions as to what could be the cause of the dull coloration?

I think that's typical of the species as they age, but maybe adding more veggies to its diet can help. Try spirulina formula in addition to the nori. You could also try colour bits. Those pellets always brought out the best colors in my fish.
