DeepBlue 7 gallon rimless cube build

So today I purchased a 12X12X12 DeepBlue Rimless tank to replace the JBJ Cubey in my office. I have a question for everyone it came with a black foam attached to the bottom with double sided tape does this stay on as is sits very weird on the deck top

So today I purchased a 12X12X12 DeepBlue Rimless tank to replace the JBJ Cubey in my office. I have a question for everyone it came with a black foam attached to the bottom with double sided tape does this stay on as is sits very weird on the deck top

How thick is the foam? Do you have a picture? It is probably 1 of 2 things: 1) some sort of "leveling mat" to help level out the tank or 2)packaging to keep the tank from taking any hard bumps during shipping
