BTW- When are you gonna give in, Steve? I want to see an angel in that reef!!!!

Centropyge abei. deep water, but was once found at 5m in japan. divers observed it for 2 months until it just dissapeared one day. it was probably a waif.

omg. i'm so sorry for flooding your thread with pictures. i just realised you're looking for pictures of these fishes that people own, and not those in the wild.

sorry...i mis read your post :(

Well you did post some pictures of some unbelievable fish!!!

i was going to post more but was off topic, so i stopped haha.

the only deepwater ones that i've kept was colini and probably golden.

prognathodes marcellae is commonly available here but i've never bought one before. i like these prognathodes. they look very stylish with their armany style dorsal fin.

here's another one of my favourites. the very rare venustus x multibar. quite deepwater, considering both parent species are fairly deep dwelling. i think there are only 4 of these hybrids. i've only seen 4 different photos of them so far. there could be more. i sometimes secretly wish i stumble upon 1 during my local phillipines shipment. many a times rare and unusual fish appear and i'm hoping this is one of them... if they don't get shipped to japan, of course.
