Roger,
I just bought a new 6055 from premium aquatics and the plug for the variable won't stay plugged in. It looks like something is missing. The unit is brand new and was just received on 1/5/12. What should I do?

Its cables for my apex. they work perfectly on my other 6055. its hard to see in tge picture but the opening on this one seems bigger than normal.

Pa suggested doing that but it definitely seems like its with the way it was made. I was thinking about putting s strip of electrical tape on it to see if that helps it fit snugly. but since its brand new Im hoping for a replacement. I made the mistake of selling my 6055's to try out the mp10's. It only took 3 weeks to realize that was a mistake. tunze customer for life now.

Steve,

I've heard this a couple of times before, and if I'm not mistaken it's an issue with the Neptune plug, rather than the Tunze portion of the unit. As long as you can get it to stay in contact it will be fine. If not, then you'll want to grab a new Neptune plug for a tighter fit. HTH

Hey Jeremy,
I tried plugging it into another tunze that I have and it fits fine. Its so loose on the new one I just got from you it falls right out. it definitely looks like it wasn't put together right.

It is on off the shelf DIN socket, so it really wouldn't be a matter of being put together wrong on our end, we buy the sockets and solder them to our cable and they should be fairly standardized. We could try replacing the socket but my experience has almost universally been it is a cable issue. I would be happy to send a return label and we can replace the socket and I will check it against one of our cables but we cannot promise fit of a cable we don't provide, all I can do is be sure our cable fits properly.

Thanks Roger. I ended up using pliers to krimp the round housing on the stream cable forcing it to be snug enough and now it stays in.
