Demani Snapping Shrimp

I now know that these shrimps are not usually in the aquarium trade...but I have one in my reef tank. (hitchhicker in my live rock)Lucky for me right??? From what I have seen and researched, these snapping shrimp grow to be about an inch in size and are rarely seen. However, I was lucky enough to locate the one inside my live rock.

Does anyone know if their behavior/demanor is anything like that of a mantis shrimp? If so, please let me know. Thanks.

are we talking about pistol shrimp here? if so then yeah about 1 inch max. if you have a gob it may form a symbiotic relationship which i hear is a really cool thing to see. pistols are "mostly harmless" but are generally pretty reclusive.

Justin...thanks for your reply. This is a pistol shrimp, black in color and very tiny...I just removed my yellow watchman and tiger pistol from my tank thinking that I had a mantis in addition to these two. However, it really doesn't hurt to find another goby to pair up with this shrimp. Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend.
