Derasa not extending much

Hi all,
I have a new Derasa (2 weeks). He's on the bottom of a 72 bow/ with 2-150w 10,000ks. He colored up nicely, but the mantle is not extending much beyond the lip of his shell, and he's not open very wide compared to other pics of this clam I've seen on the board. I have a T. Maxima I've had for 4 years with no problems.Does the Derasa need more acclimation time??-thanks for any help.

Acclimation is probably not the issue.

Have you checked it for pyram snails?

How are your tank parameters?

there is a spiral groove on the side of the shell I noticed right away. I figured from a past snail episode. Under close exam no snails found. Water parameters are good.Cal 450+
