Derasa placement?

Looking at getting another clam,(derasa).

Where does he wanna b??

Rocks or sand?

i keep my dersa on the sand and he seems happy enough.

all the clams can be found up on the reef (and they most commonly are found there).

place the clam where you have enough space and it will get plenty of light

just remember that Derasa clams get very big, very fast!
Mine is heavy to be up on the rocks, he likes it in the sand

Derasa is better in the sand, I lost one when I tried to put it on the rock work, its shell just disconnected at the base and it die shortly afterward.

Derasa and Squamosa in the sand and Maxima and Crocea on the rocks. I do have two Maximas in the sand right now, but I have some plastic underneath their byssal area for them to attach to.
