Designer Bangaiis

Both Bangaiis and Clowns have been bred for some time now and there are some designer clowns out there (picasso, snowflake, etc.) but I was wondering if there was any "designer" bangaiis? like solid black or no stripes, etc? Any ideas or pics? Please post both.

Thanks

I just searched their website and they didn't have any photos (wouldn't that seem like a no-brainer?). I'll take a camera next time I go, though it may not be for a while.

Umm fish(andy)- your kidding right?
I ask because both banggais and pyjamas are mouth breeders and it seems to me-improbable. Its one thing to be a haremic spawner, and the pelagic eggs get fertilzed inadvertantly when a number of angels are breeding the same time, like what can happen w/ centropyge angels.
But to have a female banggai be receptive to a male pyjama, or vise versa. The only way possible i can see is if both pyjamas and banggais are spawning in extremely close quarters, and gamates floating into the mouth of a carrying male, and fertilze a unfertilzed eggs.
Lastly, the fact that these fish are closely related but considered different species doesn't help here. Pyjamas are apogons while banggais are pterapogon
Of course in nature anything could happen- I may be totaly wrong
A picture is worth a 1000 words

I think that the pajama-bangaii mix is just a completely different species called an orbicular or orbic cardinal. They look like a pajama kinda with bangaii coloring. Saltwaterfish.com sells them I think.

reddish/brown coloring can be a sign of stress with bangaii's. usually from having males in close quarters or incompatible pairs.
Mine take on this coloration for a day or two when they get moved to a new system. I have to agree with the hybrid theory Fmarini made. Doesn't seem very likely at all to me.

As far as designer Bangaii's though, I've yet to see any or hear about em. The breed easily in captivity, but not much commercial breeding really going on. Most specimens in stores are all wild caught, unfortunate too, since they come from such a small geographical location that is prone to overcollection.
