Most of fih were caught In TIP zone ( Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines) using cyanite. We face this problems and lost them within 2 weeks.
Anyone can detact the sign of fish that caught by such harmful drug? and how to detox then after the fish come to our QT tank ( If the luck is not my side ).

There is only one way to verify that a fish has been caught by the use of cyanide, and that is through a post mortem examination. There are signs from observing some of the internal organs that cyanide was present in their system.

Once a fish has been caught by cyanide there are a few things you can do to help the fish, but these things will not 'save' the fish, necessarily. I will not share these things I have come to learn about, since it was my goal since 1970 to make it harder for people to collect fishes using cyanide. By providing 'bandages' for those fish, it encourages the continuation of cyanide collection.

I would suggest that you stop buying fishes that are caught using cyanide. This sends a message to the wholesalers and then back to the collectors that such fish are not wanted. At the same time, people need to come together and help teach the collectors how easy, safe, and efficient it is to collect fishes with nets. This I have done in the 1970's with villages in the Philippine islands.

Good luck! :)

Lee,

I'm assuming these are gross observations and not histological changes. Any chance you would care to share what these signs are? Which organs, and what are you looking for?

Thanks in advance.

But here is Thailand, I can not choose the shop because all marine fish shops here all from the same agent. If one effected with such harmful cyanite means all of the market full of cyanite fish until the new lot of fish come... and the old lot die off.
