I bought some DI Resin (3 lbs) 3 years ago and have had it in storage for the last 2 years in a zip lock bag. It is still moist and doesn't seem to have darkened much in color. Is it any good now? Can I recharge it?
Overtime when the resin is exposed to air the resin loses its ability to pull the charges out of the water. the moist felling is a protective coating to protect the resin from picking up charges from the moister in the air. I think it is some sort of non polar oil base coating but I’m not sure exactly. and I wouldn't trust a Ziploc bag to keep the air out or to prevent the resin coating from drying out. I use a vacuum bag sealer to store my leftover resin.
