Worked out for me after a couple of weeks. This was a pair in a 180 gallon. Thought I made a mistake that first day but once that top layer was cleaned up it all worked out.
I have that same combination. Mine is a model citizen but I have heard that certain individuals will crop dust your tank with sand. Luck of the draw, I guess.
I've got that exact combo; I think it took a week or two for it to start clearing out. If you don't run a filter sock in your sump, it may make sense to do so temporarily at least.
Still have a sand storm one week in. Yes I do run a filter sock. I did a big water change today. The tank has been setup about 8 months and I have not clean the sand bed that much so the go by is going to town with this one. Sand bed is a little less than 1 inch overall. Good thing is the SPS don't seem to be bothered too much by it.
Not sure what size tank you have, but the larger it is the longer it will take. But I wouldn't worry after a week. Also, mine would stir up the tank for a short time after water changes if I siphoned the substrate.
