Did I kill my starry blennie ?

Two or three weeks ago my starry blennie disappeared. He was always visible, then one day, gone. I figured he died after 3 good years.

Today I cleaned my skimmer. I put it in a bucket in the shower and hosed it down with luke warm water (I think, I wasn't paying attention to temperature). I then disassembled the skimmer, hosed it down some more while it was in bucked, cleaned it up and poured the dirty water down shower drain and saw blennie flopping around ! He must have been in skimmer all along. I rushed to aquarium and dropped him in , me in a panic.

He swam under a rock where he is now sitting.

I am concerned the rapid temperature and salinity change may have killed him, damaged internal organs, etc. If he's alive in a week does that mean he's ok ? Two weeks ? Thoughts...

Very worried and feeling horrible....:fun5::hmm1:

He'll probably be fine.

How'd he get into the skimmer in the first place? Mine is not only in the sump, the fish would somehow have to swim through the pump to get there!

Yup ! Over the overflow, into sump and then ???? Through the pump ??? No freakin' idea. But there he was...

Holy. Crap!
My bet is that he will live... People do freshwater dips all the time and if he already made it though the temperature shock he's got a really good shot... Hard part is over with! What a lucky a** fish!!
