IRC isn't down. DNS is screwed up (beyond my control). You can use irc.afterx.org to log in to chat.

I spent last night setting up alternative DNS. So IRC should be back to it's normal, happy self. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Hopefully this issue is resolved for good.

Well chat is 24/7 if people decide to talk. Friday night chat has slowed down, but people can pop in anytime to chat.
