Difereent cardinal breeding!!!!!!!

Can 2 diferents cardinals breed!?!?!?! I mean cuz my bangaii cardinal & my pijama cardina ar doing the breeding dance like a named jiji and they are like flirting!!! can they really breed!?!?!?! Pleaseee help i really want t o know!

I don't know.. It would be interesting to see if they do. Are either of them new to your tank? as I hope it is the mating dance and not territorial behavior.

They are been in my tank for a year and a half by now and in the LFS told me that that can happend cuz the are from the same specie (Cardinal) but im not sure if that is true!! Andf the dance they are doing is like the one taht my pair of clown fish do.

I'll be very interested to see what happens--keep us posted. They're the same family, but different genuses (Pterapogon and Sphaeramia). I don't know if that makes a difference.
