Are there a few different types of toadstools? The ones ive seen on here have very thin and delicate looking tentacles coming out of it. I seen one at a lfs around here that had thicker more stocky tentacles and diddnt wave with the current as much? If so what is the name of the ones with the thin tentacles as I want one.

so what is this?

Best guess is it's a small "umbrella" with the polyps slightly retracted. There's always the middle-ground too; lots of leathers out there.

That is one type of toadstool amongst the many varieties out there. I have about 10 different types of them myself.

thanks for the info guys. i have since moved one under 250 w mh and stil the tentacles are not stretched anymore. anyone know where to get the other kind with the long delecate lookig tentacles umbrellas?

There are more than 2 dozen species of "toadstool" aka "umbrella", all of which are species of Sarcophyton. Many of them are flat- or dome-topped (toadstool) when young, but develop folds and ridges as they mature (umbrella). Sarcophyton elegans, S. tortuosum, S. boettgeri, S. ehrenbergi, S. glaucum, S. flexuosum, S. regulare, S. crassum, etc...
