Digital Aquatics Archon Owners Thread

Glad to hear it! Is there really a 100ths digit on temp? I wouldn't have thought that the temp was that accurate.

When you set the ph value for a controller does it maintain the fills data? Currently it rounds to the tenth.
I don't think it uses the 100ths digit on the temp but to get it on pH all the readbacks on the probe ports have the 100ths digit even ORP has it now but it is always 0.

I think the Archon is plenty stable now. The software items being worked on now are more a matter of increasing the feature set. There is one issue I know of regarding the time of day, but that has a fix already.

I have to disagree. Mine at least is not stable. I am having ongoing issues with the clock which makes the timers malfunction. I thought this had been fixed but it happened again on Friday. In addition to this I am not able to change the username and password without physically removing the flash drive and editing the file on my computer.

Also today the Archon lost connectivity. I had to do a full reset to get it to reconnect to my network. I have to go to Austin for work on Sunday for a week. I am more than a little worried leaving this.

I have to agree. I have exactly same behavior as Solo...

I am back running my RKE wityArchon running on the counter with temp probe and a PC4 with just "stuff" hooked to draw power and exercise the unit. I don't see moving it back until i see 30 days of consistent behavior

I just checked mine the clock is dead on. I have the UTC at -6 and daylight savings time unchecked. This seems to give me the correct time.
Is that Austin Texas? If so i live just outside of Austin.

Oh nice. Yeah Austin TX. I haven't been down for years but that is where the company I work for is based.

I cannot get the system to save my username and password. I think that when I updated it manually it may have screwed up the time zone again? Is there somewhere in the code to manually set the time zone? I thought this issue was resolved but it was not. What are the software firmware versions you are using?

Software version is: 1.09.24.
Hardware version is: 1.08.5.
Firmware is up to date.

Just remember I am one of the beta testers. The only way I know to check the UTC is to reset.
If you don't mind me asking which company?

Oh ok. I think only the people with 1.08.7 are having this problem.

My company is called Active Power. Flywheel powered UPS systems.

My understanding is that 8.07 is 8.05. It was 8.06 that had an issue. I think Dave and Ken have 8.07. I may be the only one left with 8.05. I never updated to 8.06 before it was pulled so I had no need to update to 8.07.

I am not sure if 9.24 has been released yet but the only difference is the 100 ths digit on the readbacks.

I think we may have some of the flywheel things where I work at Freescale.

I am on 8.05. One thing you may want to do is check the system time thru telnet. If it is not what you need then use a different utc. That's what I did and use -5 utc. DST is unchecked and I'm on central time and its perfect.

Haha. Yes you do that is one of our sites.

So I just verified this. I can have EITHER my own username and password OR a working clock. Fixing one causes the other to malfunction.

If you goto the command prompt in windows type telnet. Once in telnet use open with the IP address.
Example: open 192.168.1.118

This will get you the prompt
DigitalAquatics Archon System
Root@DigitalAquatics /#

Type in date. You should get the date back as a response.

I think you type exit to get out.

That is interesting. I didn't change the password. I did back in December without an issue but since I have just left it at the default.
