Digital Aquatics Archon Owners Thread

Yes a PB4 I havent got to my PC4s yet. I have an iTemp plugged in which was showing the correct temp now its not. I plug in my PH probe which isnt showing correct either but I didnt calibrate my ph probe. And lastly my PB4, I have programmed the heaters and some lights but there heater hasnt kicked on and Im still messing with the timers
 
A couple thoughts. Please don't be offended if I'm suggesting the obvious; just going through the troubleshooting steps! :lol2:

You say the heaters haven't kicked in. What's the status of the PB4 output channel for your heaters on the Outputs Page? It'll be either red Off, or green On. My first thought would be to check that the set point on the heater is lower than the Archon. The Archon may be turning the channel on, but the heater thermostat is preventing it from coming on. Also, make sure the channel is in Auto mode.

Setting up the Heater function:
When I change fields, and hit the Save button, I get two messages under the Header, "Module data saved" and "Function data saved," then the page refreshes. Do you get either of those messages? What exactly happens when you hit the Save button?

When hit the save button I get those 2 messages. The port still shows off but goes to auto. If I click on it again it shows zero for my set points as if it never saved.
 
Yea checked everything then tried again. I actually set mine up like yours, then i click save. I get those 2 messages. When I click on the heater again. It saves Module Name, Channel Name, and Current function. Input, set point, hysteresis all go back to 0. So pretty much the left side saves the right side doesnt.
 
Make sure you are up to date on software and hardware versions. Which do you have. The webpages are matched to the software and hardware version. If you changed the files on your memory stick they may be a newer version than what was on there previously.
 
If it isn't saving the data sets your driven isn't working right. It won't let it store the data. Power down the system by unplugging and pb4 or pc4 from the archon then unplug the archon power supply. (You do have one right? What is the voltage and amperage)(there were some early ones that went out wrong) always run archon with the power supply. It works best. The pb4 are supposed to have enough juice but I don't have one to test it.

Anyways check the drive for errors with pc just in case. To me it sounds like drive is read only.

Yea I have a power supply. Ill the drive but wouldnt that affect everything? I programmed it to run my lights. It brought the blues on, then the whites and now the white just went off for the day.
 
The Archon Stores All programming on the flash drive. If the archon does not have enough power that drive will go read only.

I'm just reaching here as to why it won't save your heater program. Will it save other functions?

Your softare is out of date. I think the latest is 1.09.56. You may have to get with Eric at DA support to get it up to date.
 
Got in touch with Eric @ DA and he got me up and running really fast. Very knowledgeable guy! I will be switching my stuff over slowly over the next 2 days, Ill keep everyone posted.
 
Well I got everything changed over and its working for the most part. I have a pretty simple setup though. Lights, 2x heaters, return pump, skimmer, fuge light, and ato. The rest of the stuff I have isnt on the system. I have only had 2 issues since Dan got me straight. First isnt really an issue but I some how I missed the fact that I need a IOE module for my float switches. Second issue is I cant get my lights working right. They wont turn on when they are supposed to. Any ideas? Tomorrow will be like Christmas though, Ill be getting my IOE module, PB8, 2x DCI modules, and some extra bus cables. For my second tank I have a 30ft bus cable, ATO kit and a lab grade PH probe. Next thing is to find and IP camera and somewhere to mount it all lol.
 
Ioe module is optional but makes it easy. How are your light timers programmed? Is it just on and off on the pb4?
