About to buy my first nano would rather spend 100 than 180 for the oceanic, so is the jbj that bad of quality or is it good.... plusses, minuses??

nanocubes i've heard crack after a year or two... but that prob's fixed. try the currenty USA aquapod, dont pay over 149.99 for brand new. its very nice, u'll be happy with it, and it looks bigger than the nanocube. the nanocub compared to this looks small.

look at some of the old posts about this issue, there are hundreds. and keep in mind you not buying a car, just a fish tank circa 150.00 etc

yea i just down graded from a much larger tank because im graduating and im a poor college student so 150 is a lot, Ive learned to it right teh first time because you end up buying teh better one eventually anyways

I was given free reign to set up and stock bio-cube displays at work, one of each size. They are very nice I must say. I would definalty reccomend them.

one more q speaking of office tanks..the reason im getting a nano is that i will be graduating soon and would like to know do bosses usually let you have nanos at your desk and what size would you recommend? 8 or 14 and why?

I have had my JBJ Nano since January and am happy with it so far. I had the original pump go out under warranty and it was replaced. I have pictures in my gallery. Everything has thrived in it and I find it easy to care for. Good luck with whichever you choose.. you will quickly become an addict !!

My LFS has a Nano Cube set up near the register,& its been there 4 almost 2 yrs.IMO the tank looks great. That x-tra $80 bucks will look good in livestock.

circa is not for money, only dates!

To respond to the original post...

My vote would be Oceanic, because...

-Oceanic makes tanks not lights

-The Bio-Cube builds on the success/failure of the JBJ and Aquapod

Office policies on aquariums will vary to the extreme. In my experience an 8 or a 14 would be ok at any of my jobs. Something like a 29 or larger would probably start causing problems.

Plus at the office I would want a small tank so that I enjoy viewing it but don't have to spend too much extra time at work doing the maintenance. For my office I went with a 10g AGA.

I have an Oceanic Bio-cube here its 14 gallons, granted i have not set the tank up as of yet... but i like it, it is really nice.
