Hello. I'm trying to figure out if what I have is Dino, Cyano, Diatoms, or something else. I believe it is Dino but I'm wondering if there is anyone around that can help me identify it. I don't have access to a microscope and really wouldn't know what I was looking for anyway.

If anyone is available for me to bring a sample or want to come to my place to take a look it would be appreciated. I can probably spend up to $10-$20 on the assistance but any more than that and I'll just wait and buy a microscope.

It seems to stay on the sand at this point but I don't want it to get out of control so I don't exactly wait. I already did a 3 day blackout and it didn't come back for a couple weeks. Not sure if that helps identify it. It actually seems to have come back worse but still only on the sand. It creates a layer over the sand which does become slimy and stringy with bubbles at the tips. It is a combination of reddish and brownish depending on how thick it is. Also, it falls apart as I scoop it up but i am able to scoop it our with a fish net as long as I take the layer of sand beneath it.

If I was smarter I would have a picture to post but ... I just scooped it all off the sand yesterday. I will post a picture here once it comes back. Any assistance is appreciated.

I am looking to confirm it is Dino before any drastic treatment. I didn't see anything about that on the page you linked. Once identified I'll look back at this link. Thanks...

Attaching pictures ... I think ...

Anyone know what magnification I would need to properly see the cells? Need to know how much to spend on microscope
