direct flow over Montipora

I need to move one of my vortech mp40s due to to much flow over some euphyllia. The only place I can move it will put it directly inline with a couple smaller montipora pieces. Can they handle direct flow. The mp40 does not run at full power.

TIA -- Joe

Should be able to get away with high flow on monti caps (I have only seen in stores and other's tanks) and encrusting varieties (which I have good experience with). Might be worth fragging to keep a clone?

I have a monti cap about 8" from an MP40 and it's fine. You'll find that its plates grow more thickly when in heavy flow.

When I moved my power head right behind my Monti it took off in growth! I swear this thing grows an inch in 2-3 weeks! Im constantly fragging it.

Not all plating montipora are caps, nevertheless, if it likes the flow increase, I think you'll find it may whirl better. It'll tell you if it doesn't like it.

They are caps, a small orange and purple pieces I got from a fellow reefer. These are the first SPS I put in the tank, so I was hesitant to make any changes without asking for advise first. Going to try to move the vortech soon as one of my torch and hammer look like they are going to get blown over by it.
