Disable the drip detector on Kangaroo dosing pump

To disable the drip detector on a Kangaroo 330 dosing pump:
(This may work on other dosing pumps with similar optical drip detectors)

1. Take off the back
2. There are two sets of wires going to the detector and emitter
3. Remove the connector with the brown and black wire (detector).
4. Place a 5v 20mA red blinking led - Radioshack 276-036 $1.29 with the long lead into the brown wire socket and the short lead into the black wire socket.
5. Close the cover, power - up - You're done!

NO MORE PROBLEMS!

I have not yet lurked into the inards of my kangaroo...

Is this a better mod than the jumper wire mod?

P.S. I will be hacking mine to be controlled by my automation system (parralleling hte control buttons with digitally controlled lines from my automation system.

I've been running the 1 wire mod here for about 5 months now and no problems what so ever.. don't know how much different this mod is compared to the 1 wire mod..

This actually works! I had to unplug the other 2 wires aswell for it to work.
