I'm not sure if he hit himself or if my Yellow Tang got him , but that gash worries me. Anything i can or should do ?

-Look on the lower belly between the black bars. happened last night i'd say. nothing special happened, he still eats.

Fairly deep too.

Hard to tell from pics but be sure to have antibiotics on hand but I wouldn't dose until you see symptoms. Keep water very clean and feed vitamins in his food.

feed more. do more water change.

it will heal, just have to make sure the fish is strong enough and not develop an infection.

so be honest now, what were u doing in the tank that u think u did that to the fish ? lol haha

could it be one of the cats ?!

I would guess that its the yellow tang that caused it with its spike on its tail! It should heal on its own with no problem. Just keep the water quality in check.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys

Thanks guys , my first reflex was to put him in a QT but he seems relaxed, he eats and someone said if he's doing all that, put him in a QT would probably stress him and i'd loose him because of it; so i'll leave him alone for now. he's still very active and the yellow tang is not agressive with him anymore, use to be when i first introduced him but now they seem to each leave each other alone. Anyway i'll keep his regime up he's a pig as you can see from his picture quite fat like his buddy the Foxface, "Mulder" I'll put some garlic on his grazer ring and dried algaes.

do not dose that in your reef, will make your skimmer go crazy.

healthy fish, in good environment, will heal small wounds like that.

This isn't that unusual for tanks with multiple tangs, it should heal within a week. Don't do anything out of the ordinary or dose anything weird..

beautiful happy looking animals in your tank!

Ok thanks guys will be patient and monitor only ; yes they're usually very peacefull, lots of room to swim and lots of food to go around. Ulva is growing on the rocks as well.
