Diving pictures from the Keys

ahoyhoy239 - These pictures where taken on Saturday.

Jman - they where all over the place, but you have to get close to the bottom to see them. We were well beyond Looe Key.

Here is another shot of the Jawfish, they are very hard to spot

If you guys plan on going out again , and are willing to let people tag along...please let me know , i can help with the gas money , fees, ect .....

Its so cool to see those pearly jawfish pictrures. My bolyfriend's folks have a house in Key West. Hopefully going back soon..
How hard are they to spot in the wild? They are my favorite fish to watch in his tank. We actually just got two new ones this past week :) They are buddies burrowing together. Its really cute.

Visibilty was awesome for you. I went scouting/spearing on Tues. we shot 8 Hogs and an 8lb Red Grouper. I was freediving in like 20-30 ft. Great Pics. We truly are lucky to have this in our back yard.

Breathtaking. I miss diving.

We Saw a baracuda once and it was the scariest, ugliest and FASTEST thing I have ever seen about 6ft long. He was gone in a flash! (those teeth give ya nightmares). I liked it better when a sea turtle swam by me.
It has been almost 20 yrs since I dove. Wow. That long ago?

Very nice pics and those Jawfish are adorable. Just want to put them in your pocket an take them home.

i miss scuba diving........
seeing some of the pics on here tonight is making me want to go get my gear serviced and go diving :)
great pics by the way.

Heh , love the Jawfish! Me and a couple friends will be heading out your direction to go diving early September. That vis is freakin amazing! Even on our best days we do not get nearly anything as clear as that here in Cali.

Cheers!

Every barracuda, I've seen, refused to let you get very close. They just seem to swim away when you try to approach them for a picture. Every pic I've taken has been from way above, below or from behind them.

Also, the ones that I've tried to catch on "shiny things" like spoons wouldn't even cooperate. I wouldn't worry about them too much because in clear water they usually see things for what they really are, whether they tied to a line or attached to your body.
