DIY calcium reactor question

What does it cost to make a DIY reactor? I want one, but there are a lot of things in the way. Money, and space to name a few.

Salty -

Even if you DIY a reactor, it can still be quite costly. There's the cost of the regulator with solenoid and the price of the CO2 bottle. If you add a C02 controller, that will add more money.

yeah it seems real pricey. I was hoping to get the bottle and reg. used off craigslist or swap shop. It's all way up in the air. Just getting a feeler for the DIY cost.

I tried to do a search for calcium reactor in the DIY forum and in the MARS forum. Unfortunately, the search feature isn't work for premium members either. :(

You can search RC with google. Go to google and in the search field, type in calcium reactor site:reefcentral.com you can change calcium reactor to whatever your looking for, not as great, but works when the RC search isnt working.....so most of the time :)

I believe CVR has done a few DIY calcium reactors. They posted an entire thread if I remember correctly.

What about the new via aqua calcium reactor. It is cheep, small, and designed for smaller aquariums. It seems perfect, but I don't know if it's a piece of junk or not. If anyone knows anything about them let me know.

I already dose with purple up and reef builder. Also dose seachem magnesium and amino acids. But I would like to go more automated in the future. It's more stable and I barely have the time.

Great tip, Bobby. I almost always have to use Google to search RC since the search is rarely working.

A quick search resulted in these threads about Ca Reactors:

And here is a discussion about Ca Reactor vs. 2 Part, if your interested in exploring an alternative:
