I have been getting a bunch of people asking about doing diy led fixtures. I just shot a pm over to dave and we were thinking maybe some day doing a small get together and helping people get their diy fixtures going. Maybe if we bribe nate enough we can get him too haha. who would be interested?

Thats kind of depending on what your building last fixture i did cost bout 100 to build 300 if you bought it prefab

I'd definitely be interested. We're finally starting to get out 40B together, and I've been contemplating doing DIY LED vs T5's... Seeing what some others have done already would be awesome.

Seems like we have alott of interest the only problem may be finding a place large enough. I would offer up my home but I am not thinking there would be enough room. Does anyone know of anyone with commercial space empty somewhere. Nate how long does it take to assemble and program a typhon maybe a demo like that or even better diy drivers? Then jusy do a small fixture and teach the basics of assembly and strings?

Let me talk to my boss and see if he will let us use the warehouse. Not sure if he will yet but he said after he is done building a doggie daycare that he just got a permit for he would let me use the space for informational meetings and maybe even a frag swap when the daycare is closed.

I could house 10 or so people in the finished part of my basement. I could probably get my employer to let us use the common/cafeteria area if we got more than 10 people interested.

I live about 5 min from Caribbean Forest (right near Dan's Craft's and Things), and work at a place right near Eastview Mall.

Depending on the number of people interested, we can use my semi-finished basement. I think we could fit (3) 6' tables in it for about 6-8 people. It's also got a home theater projector if we want to look anything up online.

I'm thinking the commercial space would be way better for space, but if those fall through, my basement is available.

Should I ask? It would be Hilton, closer to Greece on Manitou road. I am working today so I could see what he says about it.

i agree i think a commercial place would be best if there are a ton of people. That being said if we could i think it would be better to have it at a persons home as we would have access to those tools that we are more than certain to forget to bring. and way people that are interested in attending could toss me a pm just so I can ge a clue who may be interested in coming. again this is more of a diy meeting not a swap so i wouldnt think people would be setting up tanks or anything

set aside a couple hours. Nate stopped over to educate a few of us in Syracuse a while back and wow, does he ever know a lot!
