DIY MaxiJet Stream (Pic Intense)

I had sent emails to everyone with current orders regarding which impellor style that wanted to supplied with their kit.

They were sent via email, not PMs.

If you haven't gotten your kit, you will receive it this week. Shipping days on these are 2/20, 2/21 and 2/23.

Hey guys,

A friendly word of advice. You should keep posts about buying and selling of these mods private rather than posting on here. Last thing we want is for the RC mods to close the thread due to "commercial" posts which are prohibited. :)

Hello Matt,

I tried sending you a PM but your mailbox is full. Hope everything is going well for you. I was wondering if you might be able to provide with a status of my maxijet mod. On a previous PM you had said that it would go out on the 13th or 14th, but I haven't received it yet. Is there a tracking number? UPS or USPS?

Thanks.

Rico.

Guess people can't read... If you are having issues contacting a member via PM, alot of times they have an email link to the account as well that you would be able to contact them with...

Lutz493 has both, if unable to contact via PM please try e-mail...

Need help guys.

Still having the same problem with my Mod. MJ1200 w/ 1.75" prop in 1.5" coupling.

Problem is that when I put pump in deeper water it rattles & stops working, but when i put near surface it works fine as it pulls air in.

I tried the mod on 2 different MJ 1200 bodies & get the same effect.

Anyone ever have this happen?

jrcastro - You really need to get me some photos bro. I can't tell you what the problem could be without looking at your mod.

Somethings to consider.

1. Your inlet slots are either too small/narrow or there's not enough of them.

2. Your propeller is placed too far forward or too far back.

3. Your impeller magnet/propeller assembly is off centered.

4. There may not be sufficient room between the wall of the housing and the propeller.

.....

At least tell us what you are using for the housing, size, thickness, etc...

How many inlet slots or holes and how wide are they?

How far does the end of your propeller go as compared to the length of the housing?

Etc....

When you put the impellor together..... I will assume it was not laying 'flush' 100% with the magnet? I came to find out that if you do not push it all the way on, it will break.

I'll send you a 2nd impellor in the next day or so, just make sure when you get it, to push it all the way down on the magnet.

My apologies for not specifing that to anyone, it was just brought to my attention over the last day.

Matt I recieved the replacement, and when i installed it..... it is very loud, I left it running over night to see if it would get quite but no luck it is still very loud... I inspected the impellor and couldn't find any uneven ware marks. what can I do??

I requested the type "B" which looks like it was grinded with a stopper.

hey all, I just spoke to matt... he is one great guy to deal with he assured me he would resolve the issue I am having.

I am in the process of deciding how many more of these mods I will need for complete circulation in my reef. They have great flow for the price/watts used/and size.

whitesquall

You run the mod on a MJ 1200 or 900 ? How much water does that little thing push in your 90gallon ?

read the thread in the c-sea forum theres still some bugs with the lutz mod IMO

I need to make the impellor easier to slip onto the magnet. I made it a tight fit on purpose but I think because of this, in some cases props are not being properly installed causing some breaks.

I've had 8 total breaks out of a few hundred that have made it into hobbyists homes and would very much like to make that number zero.

People that have experienced trouble have gotten replacements at no extra costs. Nylon impellors are being made right now and I'm hoping those along with the kits will be in my hands with-in the next couple of weeks.

It has been mentioned in this thread already, please keep within the guidelines of the forums on reefcentral.com

Any feedback is welcome but please leave this information in the proper forum.

I can be reached at removed as well as PM - Lutz493

Thank you,

- Matt

Lutz you might want to consider sharpening the blades of the screw a bit. The thicker they are the more resistance and vibration hence more noise. Just a suggestion.

I have an impellor that is only thirty-thousands in wall thickness. The plastic I use for this application will not mold that thin and this is why the blades are thicker.

These thin impellors are being made from nylon as we speak.

Simply PM/Email me if your having any issues with your mod and I will be more then happy to fix the problem.
