DIY MaxiJet Stream (Pic Intense)

Just ordered a 1440 prop from the place you order from. Shipping is $11.20.
It was actually cheaper to order from Hong Kong....... of course I haven't got it yet either have I...........

Hi Wayne.

I actually I ordered mine directly from Octura. The 1440 cost me a whole $0.95 and $5 in shipping. Of course I ordered a whole bunch so it's not so bad at all. :D

I may have messed up the connection section. I made it thread counter clockwise. Which way do the props spin?

Wayne

Um... Thread? What are you threading? And why?
Most props are left handed unless stated otherwise.

where can i find the dumas 1.75" prop?

towerhobbies.com

Be advised the 1.75" Dumas will generate A LOT of low so hopefully you have a large enough tank to accommodate it.

I think I've spent more on shipping charges for props now than I spent on my entire moonlight project. and loving it!

D,
By thread I meant the notches that accomodate the two prongs on the base of the powerhead. They hold the shroud/pipe, to the bottom of the unit so can twist off to service the impeller/propeller.

That shouldn't have any effect on how the propeller spins IME.

I was concerned about the rotational forces of the swirling water on the mod. I guess it doesn't matter. It locks on by twisting it to the left. If the prop is left handed, I assume that means that it turns counter clockwise. If so, the rotating water will just tighten the pieces together.

Hey Guys,
I just got through cleaning a bunch of old PHs. I had an impeller from a SEIO 820 in the bucket (burned up another SEIO pump) and a broken MJ1200 impeller from my GEO kalk reactor (2nd one in a year) If you take these thing apart the plastic impeller from the SEIO fits right into the magnet of the MJ...

This might be old news but has anybody tried this mod ?

But why would you want to place the SEIO impeller on the Maxijet magnet? A RC boat propeller is going to generate more flow than the SEIO impeller can ever hope to.

Because if you don't try, you'll never know. Don't be so quick to stifle people's creativity. You're starting to sound like the same people who told you that YOU couldn't do it either :(

I'm not saying he shouldn't do it. Just trying to save him the trouble in doing so. If he's going to do the mod, he might was well use a propeller. Physics alone tells me that the propeller by design will move more water than an impeller.

dhnguyen,
You need to chill out dude. It was just a question. I have no plans making this mod or yours. I just saw the two impellers sitting there, remembered this thread so I though I would ask.

Have a Coke, a smile and .... you know the rest

I didn't think there was anything that I said that would have made you think that I was freaking out or anything :) You asked a question and I gave an answer. I do understand though that it can be very difficult to know what the tone of the person who is posting on online forums such as this due to the impersonal way the Net works.

Anyways... I'm a Pepsi drinker :D
