This project looks amazing, as soon as I am finished with my led build this will be my next adventure. NKD, thank you for all of the time you have already put into this project to help others like myself.
So I've been working on this non stop for the past couple days and almost all the boards are tested and ready to ship out!
I also finished updating the UI images and have them running on the controller and they look so much nicer than before. I also re-thought the whole interface for programming the controller to do what you need it to do and think it will be much simpler to learn to use. Some of the lighting features I've talked about won't be released right away as I want to concentrate on getting the core part of the controller bug free first.
The code layout is also much easier for anyone to edit which should make it a lot easier for anyone to add their own buttons/screens to the UI for any features they want to add on their own.
After this week and next week is over I will be working on final projects for school for a month and won't be able to do much work on the project. After that I am off for the summer and should be able to really start throwing features into the controller and getting the whole due/5" screen issue sorted out.
I am trying to get the firmware ready so it can be download and played with while i'm doing final stuff although I'm not going to promise how much it will work with.
Like I said though anything that I don't have time to add in now will come quickly once the first week of May is over!
If anyone else good with software wants to help with the 5"/arduino due stuff and can get images loaded from an sd card displayed onto the 5" screen that would save me a lot of time.
Sure but it'd would be overkill and much more expensive.
The only problem I hit when messing with the due was loading images from an sd card. To be honest I haven't looked into it for more than a few hours though so I may have missed something. Once that hurdle is crossed there is no more use for the mega2560, especially since it costs more for an arduino mega than an arduino due.
just do what you can I know your project has to come first we are going in to the same thing where I work at students are going crazy here all ready but in 3 weeks it is summer break then it gets really busy here..I hope your final projects go smoothly for you and you do well on it.
