DIY Reef Controller

Thanks guys , for your kind words!
no offence but I almost divorce to make this thing LOL

basically i am currently in test phase , honestly i don't know exactly what are my next steps (open source or commercial) i have no idea how to walk to this path i mean commercial

Generally poseidon have no external control , is just an arduino mega and Ethernet shield.

nettraptor well If you ever decide to go open source with it I would be happy to use as is.
If you don't that is fine also best of luck to you with it.

can we use thing to make a typhoon led controller?

There are a lot of good builds for that controller but all it does I belive is control lighting if that is all your after you can use any script you want for arduino and just delete out every thing you dont want.

Yes and no. My Typhon does temp sensors as well. I'm thinking of putting the ATO on it too. The main board that Nick designed should also do that along with some other stuff that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. As long as the pins are marked the Typhon sketch or a number of others should be ablt to be retrofitted into this board. What you won't get is the cool screen choices. :(

anyone know how to test if the SD card to see if its working? I have the sainsmart mega/LCD setup and I did the mod with re-wiring pin-out but no display when I load the aquaporn sketch. I was trying to play with the sketch but no output after uploading. I used to have jarduino loaded but I don't think it uses the SD card. I would appreciate your input.

The LCD/SD on the sainsmart is crap. You need to correct the SD card pin out.
You need to use a 2g non-high def card.
I don't know if it works formatted to fat32, but mine is formatted to fat16 and is working with the henning libraries.

Took 2 or 3 weeks beating my head against the wall to figure that out

Hope you win that FOTM contest

Lol!!!

I don't care if I win...I just don't want another frickn GBR to win.
It would be like the 3rd or 4th this year. Darn freshies over there don't keep anything but GBR's.

Dale said this build was falling apart. Had to come see what was going on.

fell apart collapsed went south take your pick the only thing it had going for it was the touch screen and pretty graphics in the back ground witch the mega dosen't do well but there is an lcd that has it's own prosesor you can off load all the fancy graphics to i posted it some were and i don't know how well it really works refresh rates are the issue with the mega

Ya...I've been lurking this thread awhile waiting for the meat and potatoes to be uploaded.

What was up with the computer interface deal. He made the YouTube video private.

I don't think so. The tft is not compatible with the code at all, as it is written for use with an lcd. Displaying all those variables and the ability to change them is actually more than half the code.

Aqua, You not kidding. I got the SD to work and I'm able to see the home page of your sketch, but the touch screen is not functioning. I guess I'll start banging my head. I found a couple different pinouts, which one did u use. Not sure if this caused or need to change the code. Thanks for helping us out with the sketch.

I'm in the same boat what pins did you use for the Touch screen ..I can get to the home page but that's as far as go also what pins did you use for RTC just want to try it out in the morning
