My 7' tall DIY recirc skimmer


Just thought I would link to the thread in case anybody was interested. It is not done yet, but will be soon.

I need a big *** air pump and don't have the funds to put towards it right now... maybe in a week or so.

Let me know I have a dual piston air pump that I used to run a 7 ft skimmer on.

Rob what kind is it and hour noisy?

I will have to go and look. It was ran in my basement, when I had East Coast Clams.

It was not too loud, and moves tons of air. I ran a 7 and a 5 foot skimmer on it.

As I recall, it was an E. G. Danner/Supreme Dyna-Master.

Ohh god! I had the biology teacher purchase one of those for our 55 FO tank in high school to run the UGF (I talked her into a saltwater aquarium )

As I remember that thing was LOUD and needed a lot of wear parts (leather washers werent they?)!

Thanks Rob... if all else fails I might take you up on it... but I am going to first seek a more modern linear diaphragm pump with a lower dB rating.
