It has been reported... but VERY rare. In the wild they get upwards of 1-3meters across in size. Splitting is more common in the BTA variety. Budding, a baby forming on the underside is more common but still very rare. Sexual spawning is the most common in the wild but least likely in the home aquarium of all types of reproduction as the conditions do not meet the carpets true environment.
