do cerith snails reproduce easily in tanks?

the reason i ask is because this morning before work i noticed about 50-60 really really tiny snails on the glass that looked like baby ceriths. my large ceriths are always mating and laying eggs i just thought that they would never hatch. i will try and get pics of them later. anyone have similar experiences?

I would guess they are some kind of pyramid snail. They aren't all bad, and usually are found on what they are eating.

i would take a pic but they are small enough where my camera cant do it. they are cool. they act just like the ceriths. they are on the glass when lights are off and return to the sand when the lights are on.

There are some species of cerith which are successful at breeding in aquaria. Most have a lengthy plankton stage where they require large amounts of specific tiny food. Usually they become food for corals, filter feeders, and skimmate. Can you post some pics of the adults? If you can get one clear shot of the aperture with the animal withdrawn that would be most helpful.

My ceriths laid lots, lots of eggs. I had alot of baby snails, now its maybe 2 dozen. My ceriths were almost always on the glass, and rock, very seldom on the sand.
