Do Damsels eat snails?

I have a decent size (2 inches) Fuji Blue Devil in my 58g reef. Lately I've noticed he's been picking at the back of my Nassarius snails' shells but leaving the larger Astrea snails alone. Is he just picking stuff off their shells or trying to eat them? Anyone else have any experience with this? I know Damsels are a pain in the *** when it comes to other fish but I thought they were generally considered reef safe. TIA

I had one that used to pick at a hermit that was at least 10 times bigger than he was. The hermit would duck every time he saw the damsel coming LOL. He's probably going after the nassarius because they move more & he's trying to put them in their place (or just being a devil).

Weird thing is she's a pretty docile blue devil. I've seen a smaller chromis bully her around. But if she starts eating snails she's gotta go. My wife is gonna be ****ed at that's her fav fish...

i hate damsels.., and its too bad really, i like the way some of them look, just not there attitudes!

I had a blue-fin damsel who wrecked soft corals and LPS. Started with the softies then progressed to LPS and that's when I noticed. My softies never close now as opposed to never opening when he was around.

Killing snails wouldn't be a surprise to me.
