Do di performance issues, dumb question

My ro-di just started to burn thru the di. And I noticed that the flow coming out of the unit into the holding tank is much greater. First I thought the main fmembrane ilter might have sprung a leak, but when I took the housing apart, it seemed fine. Next I looked at that weird mixer valve thing and inspected the parts. They seem fine. Any hints on what goes bad on a unit that would cause it to essentially bypass the membrane and go directly to and thru the di canisters? I gotta think it's the little valve thing that has the four connections but don't know enough to know what to look for.

Anyone have any ideas. I would really appreciate it.

FYI, the membrane filter is fairly new..

Well when it rains it pours. Just blew out one of these fittings to my ro-di. (Please see the attached photo) Anyone know where to get one local to the palatine area. I am gonna check ace hardware but not sure they have something like this.

I'm a long drive from Palatine, but I have some fittings laying around. In Chicago, Edgewater.

Grasping at straws, but did your incoming water pressure rise? Or is it possible the fitting cracked when you were working on the unit?

Drifting. Tks for the offer but yea too far. I will try to find it locally. No to the pressure rise but probably yea to influencing the fittings .

But still need advise as to why it seems to be bypassing the membrane and going directly thru to the di. Any suggestions out there?

Tks

You should be able to get that John Guest fitting at Home Depot or Lowes. As for the unit itself, are you still getting the same product to waste ratio?

Tks dgen. I thought those fittings were special and thus not available at local stores. But will try. As for the ratio, no it fills my holding tank way faster than before. But again, my di is only working for about 50 gal before it dies. Before it was 8-12 months, based on my needs.

When this happens to me it was a bad membrane. One I had replaced just 3 months earlier. Try a new one and see.

That makes sense, if the product water has increased, the water has to be bypassing that membrane.

Yea that's what I was afraid of since it's not old.. Guess I will be buying another one very soon.
As for the fitting shown in my photo, no one nearby has one. Got some other parts from ace to see if I can macgyver it for the connections.

Correction to the above fitting note. I was wrong. Ace and HD have them. I was just thrown off since they have a slide in quick connect instead of the thread and nut to capture the tube. The slide in works great. Gonna have to buy more as the original cheap crap ones start to fail. Many Tks guys on the hints.
