Do I need Calcium and Strontium Additives?

I use sea water from the local aquarium in Hawaii. This water is supposed to be great because it is passed through several filters and a UV steralizer of some sort, so there is no living organisms in the water. I do roughly 10-15% water changes every week. Should I be using additives for calcium and strontium? I want to assure that the coraline algae on my lr has the proper environment to grow and spread onto my base rocks. I was looking into the Kent marine products. Any feedback from you guys would be great. Thanks..

I would say to test your water first those water changes may be enough to handle your calcium load right now. As for additives I prefer the ESV. You can buy dry calcium chloride. Good luck, Tim

Do you test for calcium or strontium?

I don't worry about strontium in my reef. I just test for Ca, Alk, and Mg.

A good rule of thumb is not to dose anything you don't test for.
