Do LTA split?

I was just wondering if any one has had their LTA split? I have read about BTA and RBTA splitting and was wondering if LTA do the same?

The general concensus is that they do not split. They only reproduce sexually.

Phil,
Do you have any of your tanks in your class. I was thinking about starking up a nano in my cad room.

I have had a 40 gal reef tank at school for about 13 years. Unfortunately, about 2 years after I set it up, I had to switch rooms. I thought it would be too much of a hassle to move, so for the last 10 years I have taken care of it, but it is in someone elses room.

We let the students know right from the start that the animals in the tanks are very fragile, and any foreign objects put in the tank could cause everything to die. We haven't had any problems. (knock on wood)

When I was in that room, I often found myself refering to the tank for examples, even when I was teaching physics.

I would often let students who were upset, or hyper or whatever, just stare at the tank for the first few minutes of class. It was amazing how much it helped in most cases.

My first SWT was a 12g nano and like i stated I want to set it up w/ a couple of fish and some zoas. we will see if it happens this year.

what do you do over the summer? come to school every day or take it home with you?

I come by school 3 times a week to feed, put in make-up water, etc. I usually have to go by school a couple times a week anyway and I work it into other errands that I am out doing.

Phil,

Do you have a haddoni anemone? If so what kind of lighting do you have it under? I am thinking of getting one from my LFS, they have had some nice looking Nems the last few times I went there.
