do mantis shrimps swim or ...

do they walk?

i.e. are they similar to cleaner shrimp and can swim upwards or are they like crabs where if you put them into a glass jar for example, they can't get out?

I am just trying to build a trap.

Oh yes indeed they swim! Up, Down, Upside down and fast. Once mine smells the food he is all over. If it floats he'll invert and comb the surface till he finds it.
