Do Mantis traps work?????

I know that I have a smasher mantis in my aquarium. I have seen his head poking out of a rock, by the time I got the rock out he must have moved ( a rock from the bottom of the tank btw ) I had gotten a smaller one (1" long) out before and thought that was the end of it but I guess there are more. From the size of the head it seems to be a larger one. I want to keep it if I catch it but I am not going to take out anymore rock. I tried the high salinity dip but I question that method as it is....LONG story short... ....do these traps really work???

I just found a 2" mantis in my tank today. It was grey, and rather ugly looking. I'd much rather have it out of my reef.

I am also curious to know if these traps work.
