I've got a rabbit fish and I think it's quite cool. Does anyone know how big they get, or how bossy?

Thanks

tagging along.... Mine refuses to get outta the way when i stick my face up to the tank or put my hand in there.... I just don't want him stinging me cause he's hungry and wants food, or because he suddenly gets skittish for no reason.

I have a rabbit. They are great! My hands are in my tank everyday because I feed my stingrays by hand. At first, my rabbit would hide and run, now he eats pellets from my hands. He also follows me around the tank, waiting for food of course! I honestly would not worry about it stinging too much, however I am in no way a fish expert.

I have never heard about anyone getting stung from these like the stories you hear about lion fish. My rabbit is very alert and cautious most of the time. When I put my hand in the tank, he is always aware of it, so he does get scared or startled.

Bossy - I saw mine nudge a new fish with his nose but that is about it. This lasted for a few days and it was not anything to worry about.

The net - he hates it! If he sees the net, he is gone fast, changes colors, etc. Funny how they know to run from the net!

Again, not an expert, just my personal experience!

Yeah, their ability to change color is startling. Mine can go totally calico-brown.

I've never seen any bossy behavior either, but someone told me that it happens when they get old, but that may have just been because of its environment. Or some other factor... insert bossy joke of choice.

Thanks

I have an Orange Spotted Rabbitfish. Not bossy, but he won't just get out of anyone's way either. I have seen him do the nose thing to a new tang, but I think that was more nosiness then anything else.

When he gets scared he darts into the rocks and changes color to a splotchy brown and grey. Looking remarkably like a rock
