Do tank-bred ocellaris clownfish host in anemones?

I read that they don't tend to. Is this true? I would much rather purchase tank-bred ocellaris clowns but I will purchase wild caught ones if the tank-bred ones won't host.

Thanks for any information you can give.

IME, they do so on a very regular basis. Sometimes it may take a while, but the same can be said of wild caught varieties.

Ditto, any tank-bred ocellaris clowns I have had, eventually take to a BTA or host anemone. The key is time and patience...

OCDP....that signature had me lauging out loud. This "hobby" is starting to cost more than my mortgage. I hope you are right about the tank bred Ocellaris, my black false pair have been hosting the outflow nozzle for about a year now:o) Hope they figure out the new Sebae would be more fun.

i agree with everyone else on here, they typically will, sometimes it just takes time. About a year and a half ago when i first got my h magnifica the captive bred ocellaris was in it within five minutes.
So generally, yes.

OCDP I have the same hosting site for my young clowns....up in the corner by the outflow nozzle. Recently I read on this forum that someone had heard that if you place of picture of the anemone with clowns in it that it will inspire your pair to do the same.

I forgot to check back on the responses...did it work? If that works do you think you could also put up a sign that reads: breed here with a picture of a flower pot?
