Well there's a pretty good shot Forsberg won't even get into the hall of fame.
We can all have our preferences, however, I'll let the stats speak for themselves. Sure 5 years ago everyone thought Forsberg may turn out to be one of the greatest if not the greatest Av player of all time. Lacroix went on record as saying he did not want to be the GM that let Forsberg go. That was 5 years ago and my oh my how thing have changed. Since then, Forsberg has missed an entire season, played 37 games in 03-04 and 50 some odd this season. I don't disagree that Forsberg has skills perhaps unparalelled in the sport in the last 15 years but unfortunately his conditioning and body have prohibited him from reaching a plain in which he can be considered with the alltime greats of the sport.
Sakic on the other hand isn't just consistent, he performs at a very high level every season, and is in superb physical condition for a man of his age. There is a good chance Sakic goes down in the top 5 all time in NHL scoring, and he will most likely do it playing all of his years with the Avs/Nordique organization. You still think he isn't the greatest of all Avalanche players?? Even greater than Roy who accumulated half of his stats in Montreal?? Sakic is the embodies the Avalanche organization.
I guess we'll have to let the stats speak for themselves and agree to disagree on this one.
