Do you buy livestock at Petco?

This is just my way of looking at it:

You can go to Petco and save a FEW bucks on a fish.

or

You can support your LFS for a FEW extra bucks. This compensates them for their expert knowledge and HOURS of counseling they provided me over the last year, either by phone or in person. I'm also confident, if I ever had an emergency, they would come to my home (of course compensated) to help or I could bring my livestock there for a minimial fee.

So, how do you spend your money and who do you want to do business with?

yes, the Rockford Petco will put fish in a "not for sale" tank. Not sure what their criteria is. But given that this tank is no doubt hooked up to their central filtration system, it's hard to argue that they are stopping the spread of ich or anything else.

NO NO NO NO NO

I never buy saltwater fish from them because they never take care of their sick fish. Diseases spread like crazy in their tanks.
