Do you just ignore the white precipitate that gets left over each time? I currently add r/o water and let it mix befor adding more kalk, but maybe I am making this harder than I need to?
I use kalk in my ato and rinse out the container every other fill up. Just trying to get a little more moneys worth. Most of the stuff left over is contaminants anyways.
It's not necessary. I use a reactor and clean it out maybe every 4 or 5 months. I know others that use a still reservoir that clean them once a year. The contaminates will just settle out and won't bother a thing.
I cleaned it out when enough crud had accumulated on the bottom that it was getting in the way of the ATO pump input. As long as the precipitate doesn't make it into the tank, there's no harm done by it, but it does get in the way.
I use a 5 gal ATO bucket filled with fully saturated kalk. Every 2-3 fills I'll dump and do a quick rinse. Basically when the film at the bottom gets thick enough to run the risk of being sucked up the tube.
